Dec 20, 2006, 2:01 PM: It sucks to be back.

Listening to: Slow Dancing in a Burning Room, John Mayer
Thinking: It sucks to be back.
Craving for: NOT Singapore.

I'm home. Not fun. Blahhh... well, both Bali and Jakarta were good. Great. Agh. And now I'm back on Singaporean soil and I think I'm developing allergic reactions to it. Urgh... well then...

Well, we went there from Jakarta, woke up real early and got ready for BALI. Anyway, took a plane... and tried to entertain ourselves with the Herald Tribune's crossword puzzle. hah. Ended up giving up half way. Haha... anyway, landed and checked into the beeauuuteeful hotel room after spending some time waiting for the room to be ready at the Grand Club Lounge.

Yep, ducks are just so cute. Haha... anyway, unpacked alittle, then went exploring around well, part of the whole huge hotel complex. The beach is jst... whaaaaaaaaa

and the pools are also... whaaaa. So yeah, thats pretty much what we did for the first day, just looked around and not worry about the fact that I have a whole load of homework due the first day of school and I'm still in Bali enjoying life like there's nothing wrong with the world then there really is something just dead wrong about the whole thing. Yeah. Life's a beach.

DAY 2...
my sisters and I decided to go on a cycling tour near some volcano and crater lake thing, so while we were cycling, my parents decided to pamper themselves with a day at a spa. Haha, so anyway, got up EARLY, like at, 7am, and had breakfast and then waited for the dude to come and pick us up. So yeah, travelled for about 1.5 hours to the active volcano, and had yet another breakfast buffet infront of the 2nd largest volcano in Bali 1,700m above sea level. :)

Anyway, we set off near some village, and went pass temples, shops, roads, farms just eerything you find in a typical rustic Balinese village. It was quite fun, there were afew occasions when the local were like "Musi-Mushi!" or "Konichiwa!" to us... hai, not the first, and it was definately not the last time someone has come up to us assuming we're Japansese... haha but haha, Balinese people are just suuuper friendly, people just wave to you and little kids go up to you to give up hi-5s and flying kisses. Haha, apart from the occasional wolf whistles and weird moments, they're actually really really really friendly. Haha. Anyway, passed lotsa padi terraces as well, basically, what we saw was the typical scenes you see in a geography textbook. haha.

So yeah, we had lunch, and then returned back to the hotel and swam somemore... there were some really nice art shops along the way home... ah well... anyway... yeah.

DAY 3...
slept in... then it was off to Kuta Beach for shopping... I wasn't really that interested though, just bought little knick knacks for people for christmas and basically just watched the whole family go about the usual... my younger sister got her hair braided, older sister got a manicure and a massage and parents got a facial and a massage each... I didn't really do anything actually... wasn't in the best of moods... ah well.

DAY 4...
was mainly sightseeing...anyway, first, we went to the Uluwatu temple at a cliff, with lotsa monkeys. Haha. anyway, it was pretty, and really really hot. Anyway, we were standing by this cliff, and my dad suggested we do a physics experiment- estimating the height of the cliff by dropping a rock into the water, then calculating using g as 10. Haha, well, it turned out quite accurate actually. haha... t'was about... 50m... haha..

anyway, went back and followed my dad into the temple to check the view while my mom and sisters stayed put. Then, my younger sister did some "tsk-tsk" sound to get the monkey's attention, then it approached them, and climbed onto my mom's head and took her hair clip and ran up the tree. Unfortunately, the hairclip never made it.

yeahh, anyway, so after that, we poped by some place to look at souveniors and stuff... nothing much... but there were really cute doggies. Haha... anyway, there was this pomerainian looking pup in a cage and then my dad went... "Hellooo! Are you a pomegranate?" (Pomegranate as in the fruit that we were discussing in English class for Newsweek once)

yeah, haha, anyway, after that episode, we made had lunch, and went to Tanah Lot temple, which is a temple on some island-like thing. Yeah, anyway, you can actually walk over to it during a low tide. Which is actually kinda cool.

anyway, we walked over to the bridge thingy,

and did another rock throwing physics experiment thing. Its about... ~<20m. Hahaha. Ah well, spent some time shopping and bargaining like crazy. Ah well... went for dinner around one of the areas which was affeccted during the Bali bombings for dinner, but I mean, it was worth it cause the sunset was awesommeeeee.

DAY 5...
last day... my younger sister and I went body boarding at the beach... is was quite alright, just that the hotel didn't have the fins for us to kick faster... haha, if we did have it, it would've been so much more fun, but ah well... at least we know we did it quite well... haha at least thats what the guy said. Haha, he thought we were Japanese... yet again... ah well...

Anyway, yeah, once we touched down... rushed to the Prefects Camp where practically 3/4 of all the activities was already finished. Haha. ah well... it sucks to be back...
